Welcome to the site for Priden Joy Vizslas. Bill & I have been living with Vizslas since 1988 and breeding since 1994. Our first Vizsla was a rescue girl named Hannah. She was the sweetest thing on four legs and got us hooked on the breed! We currently share our home and lives with 9 Vizslas ranging in age from 14 years young to almost 1 year old. We are active in the Central Wisconsin Vizsla Club (CWVC past president, current secretary) and the Vizsla Club of America (VCA 2001 Nationals conformation chair & 2007 Agility Chair) as well as the Wisconsin-Illinois Agility Club (WAG current vice president and puppy kindergarten & Level 1 instructor). We show our dogs in conformation and agility and dabble in obedience and hunting. Eight of the Vizslas in our home have titles in various venues. Our youngest is “in training.” I guess you could say our lives have gone to the dogs, and we love it! We are also competition junkies! Nothing brings out the bond between you and your dog like having them work with and for you. Our dogs are our Pride and Joy.
Our Priden Joy breeding practices are conservative. We breed selectively. Consequently we only have litters every now and then. Our desire is to produce good quality dogs, with good looks, good health and good trainable natures that are a pleasure to live with. We strive to meet the breed standard and breeding recommendations set forth by the parent club the VCA. With every litter we intend to better our breeding stock and do no harm to the breed. We only breed sound, quality dogs to sound, quality dogs. Puppies are whelped in our home and that’s where they are raised. We make every effort to give the little ones the very best start in life possible by introducing them to people, children, environmental stimulus and household activities. We give them lots of opportunities for strength building, confidence building and lots and lots of human contact. We are very selective about puppy placements. We like to make sure puppies match the needs of the owners and the owners are able to bring out the best in our puppies. We do the Vollhard puppy personality testing, Puppy Puzzle conformation testing and Wing and String natural ability testing to make sure we understand the puppies’ abilities for the very best placement matches. We work with prospective puppy owners to find just the right puppy to meet their family needs and just the right family to meet the abilities/capabilities of the puppies. Sometimes a family’s needs are not met by a puppy from a particular breeding, in which case we will council the family to consider another breeding (ours or another reputable breeder). When we place puppies, more than anything we look for homes that will give them lots of love and the opportunity to be the very best representative of the breed. We put our hearts and souls into our puppies and hope that their new families will continue to do the same. We are there to support our puppy owners for the life of their puppies. We are a resource, a mentor and a friend for the life of the puppy. Our puppies are our Pride and Joy and we hope they are their families’ as well!
